VSIPL++ Tutorial Announcement

MIT Lincoln Laboratory is proud to offer a state-of-the-art tutorial in conjunction with HPEC 2010. This half day tutorial will be offered on Tuesday, 14 September 2010 from 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. in S2-180.

VSiPL++ Tutorial

VSIPL++ is and open-standard platform-independent C++ API for high-productivity development of vector-, signal-, and image-processing applications on a variet of platforms, with particular focus on multicore and multiprocessor systems. Programmers using VSIPL++ can write applications quickly and effeciently, and the resulting programs are largely platform-independent, allowing the same application to be readily ported to multiple architectures.

This tutorial will provide a general introduction to VSIPL++ API and CodeSourcery's Sourcery VSIPL++ implementation. We will introduce the data model at the core of VSIPL++'s high level abstractions, and the basics of writing VSIPL++ applications. Attendees will learn how to connect VSIPL++ algorithms to larger C++ applications, and how to write portable VSIPL++ programs that effectively use parallel hardware, drawing from work on Cell/B.E. processors. NVIDIA CUDA GPUs, and MPI-based multi-node x86 clusters.
